HOW I CAME TO ISLAM

Yusuf Islam (Cat Stevens) All I have to say is all what you know already, to confirm what you already know, the message of the Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) as given by God - the Religion of Truth. As human beings we are given a consciousness and a duty that has placed us at the top of creation. Man is created to be God's deputy on earth, and it is important to realize the obligation to rid ourselves of all illusions and to make our lives a preparation for the next life. Anybody who misses this chance is not likely to be given another, to be brought back again and again, because it says in Qur'an Majeed that when man is brought to account, he will say, "O Lord, send us back and give us another chance." The Lord will say, "If I send you back you will do the same." MY EARLY RELIGIOUS UPBRINGING I was brought up in the modern world of all the luxury and the high life of show business. I was born in a Christian home, but we know that every child is born

Why Some muslims turn into terrorists?

Question: Assalamualaikum Warrahmatullahi Wabarakatuh. ...... Dear Moderator and my dear fellow muslims, may Allah gives Thine blessings upon you all, I have a question that needs to be answered on this matter, that has been bothering my mind as a concerned muslim. My name is Tom Bramantyo, I am an Indonesian, and I am a muslim because I was born in a muslim family, and Insya Allah I am still happy to be a muslim, by holding Islam as my religion until now, because, that I believe, that Islam is teaching love & compassion for all creatures on Earth and in the whole Universe. I grew up in a moderate muslim family. Since I was a kid, my father kept telling me, that the biggest and the most valuable Jihad, is to fight within yourself, especially fighting with your own anger, and forgiving other people for their mistakes, despite that they had insulted you, or even hurt you. However, why nowadays, muslims are more showing violence than compassion? For example, several years ago, I was a

If Mohammad (SAW) visited you

I wonder........................ If Prophet Muhammad( صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)visited you Just for a day or two, If he came unexpectedly, I wonder what you would do? Oh I know you would give your nicest room, To such an honored guest, And you would serve him your very best. You would be the very best, Cause you're glad to have him there, That serving him in your home Would be a joy without compare. But...when you see him coming, Would you meet him at the door With your arms outstretched in welcome, To your visitor? Or...would you have to change your clothes before you let him in? Or hide some magazines and put The Qur ’an where they had been? Would you still watch those movies, Or your T.V. set? Or would you switch it off, Before he gets upset. Would you turn off the radio, And hope he had not heard? And wish that you did not utter your last loud hasty word? Would you hide your worldly music, And instead take out Hadith books? Could you let him walk right in, Or would you rush abo

Calling Husband with his name

Q: If a wife is allowed to call her husband by his name? Ans: Praise be to Allaah. There is nothing wrong with a woman calling her husband by his name, because there is no evidence to indicate that that is not allowed. But people’s customs and traditions should be taken into account in this matter. If the custom in some land is that a woman should call her husband by his kunya (Abu So and so) for example, and they think that calling him by his name is ill-mannered, or if the husband does not like to be called by his name, then the women should pay attention to that, because she is required to treat her husband well and it is not good treatment to call him in a manner that he dislikes or that is regarded by people as not good. Each spouse should address the other by the name that he or she likes best, because that brings about love and affection. Al-Manaawi said in Fayd al-Qadeer: The etiquette of companionship: This includes: Keeping secrets; concealing faults; not telling him about th

False interpretation of Islam

"Its the most religious Bin Laden who set the world Trade center on fire." He is the most religious person according to whom? according to you and Osama himself i guess. Why should we Muslims be sorry for Osama being a Muslim? Osama was not created by us. He was created and fed by America. They say "Its Shias and Sunnis who kill each other. More Muslims have been killed in Shia Sunni conflict than any infidel can ever kill them." Sunni Shia conflict was historically lit by Israel supporters to weaken Muslims in that area. You are completely wrong about the numbers. More people were killed because of American led and American created violence. Iraq's war on Iran was also conducted by America from backstage. Saddam developed hatred for shias because they attempted to murder him so many times and this same America fueled his hatred by blindly supporting him. Yes, absolutely, Religion is inherently violent. Violent against evil, violent against the human desi

Echoes of Azan

There is not a single moment when thousands of Muazzins around the world are not proclaiming the Oneness of Almighty Allah and the apostleship of Noble Prophet Muhammad (Sall Allaho alaihe wasallam) on the surface of this earth. Let us begin with Indonesia right on the eastern side of the earth's central land mass. Indonesia consists of numerous small islands, the principle ones amongst them being Java, Sumatra, Borneo and Saibil, all of which are well known. It is the largest Muslim country in the world, with 180 million inhabitants. The number of non-Muslims here is negligible. As soon as dawn breaks on the eastern side of Saibil, at approximately 5:30 am local time, Fajr Azaan begins. Thousands of Muazzins in eastern Indonesia commence proclaiming the Oneness of the Almighty, Omnipotent and Omniscient Allah and the universal apostleship of Prophet Muhammad (Sall Allaho alaihe wasallam). The process then continues and advances towards the Western Islands of Indonesia. The time diff

Concept of Mahram and Na mahram in Islam

Assalam O Alaykum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu "WHO IS MAHRAM AND WHO IS CONSIDERED TO BE NA-MAHRAM BOTH FOR MEN AND WOMEN". Well, it is no doubt one of the most important issues of THE TEACHINGS OF ISLAMIC SOCIETY. But unfortunately it’s the most neglected area today. ISLAM has laid a great stress on to this point, whose clear cut proof we can easily find out in SURAH NISA, SURAH NOOR AND IN SURAH AHZAB. WHO IS CONSIDERED TO BE MAHRAM FOR MUSLIM MEN: Any woman, with whom a man has a relationship (of blood or foster) that precludes marriage, is considered a Mahram to him. Mahram women include his mother, grandmother, daughter, granddaughter, sister, aunt, grandaunt, niece, grandniece, his father's wife, his wife's daughter, his mother-in-law, his foster mother, foster sisters, and any foster relatives that are similar to the above mentioned blood relatives. IN SURAH NISA, ALLAH RABB UL IZAT ORDERS MUSLIM MEN: "And marry not women whom your fathers married, excep
